Studying Eastern philosophy, engaging in the rituals outlined in religious texts, and participating in contemplative practices are three different approaches to the concept, each valuable in its own way.

Claiming that any culture has ownership over meditative practices is like saying that Japanese culinary tradition owns umami.

Although I have studied Eastern philosophy and engaged in some practices of Eastern religions, I have found that keeping a meditation practice outside of any religious context has had the most profound impact on my behavior.

Thank you so much for making this workbook. It's play season for us theatre teachers and last year I ended up on BP medication with scary-high BP numbers. I'm hoping to avoid that kind of reaction during this year's show.
